About the Event

With changes made to the Housing Act 1996 over the last few years, local authorities are now able to discharge their duties via accommodation in the private rented sector as well as social housing. This course provides delegates with detailed knowledge of constitutes a suitable offer whether it be interim accommodation, temporary accommodation or accommodation to end a particular duty. Relevant case law, in both homelessness and allocations, will be highlighted along with key passages from the Code of Guidance 2018. The course will also look at all the criteria for ending duties, such as those under S193 Housing Act 1996 duty.

All delegates will be given a training pack with templates relating to making offers, suitability reviews as well as ending the various duties.
