Live Online Homelessness Training via ZOOM

About the Event

With changes made to the Housing Act 1996 over the last few years, local authorities are now able to discharge their duties via accommodation in the private rented sector as well as social housing. This course provides delegates with detailed knowledge of constitutes a suitable offer whether it be:

  • Interim accommodation
  • Accommodation to end the Prevention or Relief duty
  • S193 temporary accommodation
  • Part 6
  • Private Rented Sector

Relevant case law, in both homelessness and allocations, will be highlighted along with key passages from the Code of Guidance 2018.  The course will provide advice on how local authorities can be legally compliant as per the judgment made by the Court of Appeal in the cases of R (Elkundi) v Birmingham and R (Imam) v Croydon (2022) EWCA Civ 601.

All delegates will be given a training pack with templates relating to making offers, suitability reviews as well as discharging the various duties.
