Suitability of Accommodation

About this Course

With changes made to the Housing Act 1996 over the last few years, local authorities are now able to discharge their duties via accommodation in the private rented sector as well as social housing. This course provides delegates with detailed knowledge of constitutes a suitable offer whether it be:

  • Interim accommodation

  • Accommodation to end the Prevention or Relief duty

  • S193 temporary accommodation

  • Part 6

  • Private Rented Sector 

 

Relevant case law, in both homelessness and allocations, will be highlighted along with key passages from the Code of Guidance 2018. 

All delegates will be given a training pack with templates relating to making offers, suitability reviews as well as discharging the various duties.
